A Little About Myself. My name is Griff. I have been breeding my Siberian Huskies for a several years. This is my 4th litter. I put the majority of the money in my college fund. I own the mother Rebel and daughter Skya and the father Atlas. Rebel carries what is called a merle gene. She produces puppies with some very interesting eye colors. We get blue eyed and amber eyed pups, but also bi-eyed (2 different color eyes) and a cross between a gray and a green eyed. Skya is very special. She has two blue eyes, but one eye is partially brown. This is called a parti-eye. Some of the pups get Rebels pink nose commonly called a winter nose. Atlas had a pied gene so some of the puppies have white patches. All of my puppies are hand raised with lots of attention and love. All puppies are wormed and will have their first shot before they go.
An interesting fact is that Huskies don't actually have blue eyes. There is no blue pigment. Huskies have blue eyes due to a mutation in their genes known as ALX4 on canine chromosome 18. This mutation reduces the pigment in their eye so that it appears blue. Their eyes are not actually blue, but they appear that way because of how the eyes absorb and reflect light. About 40% of Huskies have blue eyes. |
